Looking Back Is The Mother Of Detention - Grasshopper

Wonderful memories are to be celebrated and cherished and when you have a steady diet of looking back, you impede your progress.

Laughing with old friends is one of my favorite things to do. Invariably the stories from the days of yore produce smiles and outright belly laughs complete with tears. It's like spinning a plate on a stick - it can only last for a short time.
Eventually, you need to move into the present because that's where you live now. Artificially sustaining memories past their natural life span keeps you locked inside your head and unable to play outside.
Making memories is one of life's major missions but we forestall the process when we insist on unendingly recreating that which has already been lived.
Life is over for those who live in the past. You may live many more years but they will be filled with that which isn't.
"That which is" is available with each breath.
Catching yourself in your head opens the door to the recess yard. Noticing that you are where you aren't is a gift, and each time we are given this gift of awareness, we make room to make new memories.
You detain your creativity when your focus is behind you, not to mention that you run into many, avoidable brick walls.
Let your creativity come out to play. It begins with noticing that life doesn't live in the past. It always lives now. When you become aware that you can only live in this moment, your life situation becomes infused with life's propelling energy - the mother of all creation.

All the best,
